Hosting com Review by Our WordPress Experts 2026

In other words, my testing reveals a few issues with hosting.com that the web host should improve before it joins the ranks of the truly great services out there. It’s a good choice for small businesses and individuals, but I can’t recommend it if you’re brand new to hosting. Ice cream makers keep inventing new ways to serve up flavorful combinations – and I think the same can be said about hosting providers. We rank vendors based on rigorous testing and research — but also take into account your feedback and our commercial agreements with providers. Provider ratings and rankings are mainly based on user reviews and are calculated automatically using the same equation for all providers.

If you’re looking for speed and great support from a responsible host, then A2 Hosting is a great choice. Our experience with the support team was good — and they quickly answered our questions about database limits. If you sign up and are unhappy within the first 30 days — you’re eligible for the money-back guarantee. Here (you’ll find FAQs for shared hosting and VPS packages), as well as direct access to the support team.

I gave A2 Hosting an overall rating of 3.8 stars, placing it in the middle of the pack of web hosting providers. A graduate in Computer Science, Richard has lectured in Java programming, and has built software for companies including Samsung and ASDA. If you’re willing to pay for the higher-tier plans and you have prior experience with web hosting, you get plenty for your money.

I set up WordPress in under a minute, and the best anonymous web hosting installer handled the database and admin details for me. If you’re into WordPress, Softaculous gives you real one-click installation. You can clone your site (make changes), preview, and merge back when you’re happy.

Database, WordPress and Scripting Performance

Automatic backups are supported, along with performance tools and LiteSpeed Cache, which can help with speed and has plugins for WordPress and other CMS tools. Control might seem good — but unless you have a preconfigured environment to clone across or know exactly what you’re doing, relying on A2 Hosting’s managed VPS seems far smarter. The Soar group of plans come with the same additional software and cPanel — but clearly have a higher general spec.

Global Presence and Server Locations

Dedicated servers (on the other hand), give your website full access to all of the server’s tools. All of our shared plans come standard with unlimited subdomains (parked domains), and DNS control. To help customers get their issues fixed as quickly as possible, A2 offers around-the-clock service. Because most of its plans employ the standard cPanel interface, A2 Hosting guarantees easy-to-use management. With one-click setups for well-known e-commerce applications like WooCommerce (Adobe Commerce), OpenCart, PrestaShop, and AbanteCart, A2 Hosting streamlines the user experience. A2 Hosting maximizes server performance by allocating double the standard physical memory.

A2 Hosting plans and pricing

Combine cutting-edge hardware with performance-driven software tuning and you get the fast speeds A2 Hosting is known for. As you can see (even with 50 concurrent visitors slamming the server), response times stayed fast and consistent. Here A2 Hosting scored a fully loaded time of 505 ms which gives site visitors a smooth and snappy experience. While Google cares about LCP scores, actual visitors are more concerned with real-world perceived loading speed. My test site hosted with A2 Hosting in the US data center delivered its best speeds domestically with a Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) of 659ms.

I recently had some Inode issues for my website Construction Links Network and contacted A2 support for their help. At this point, I strongly believe that switching to a more transparent and customer-friendly hosting provider is the best option. Whether you’re looking to host WordPress (Joomla), Drupal or another solution, your site comes hosted on our blazing fast SwiftServer platform.

A2 Hosting Offers Turbo Servers

The first two plans utilize Apache servers, offering standard speed features for reliable performance. A standout feature across all plans is the ability to choose or change your data center location, allowing you to minimize latency and ensure faster page loads for visitors around the globe. Plus (if you’re migrating an existing website), A2 Hosting offers free expert site migration.

Then instead of trying to become a software and hosting expert you can simply focus on your business. You know how everyone always says, “There are no dumb questions”. I’ve hosted with them for 3 years on PHP (now I’m developing in Python), and I will continue with them. I keep going back to them whenever life throws me a curve ball and I have to let it go for a few months. You’re checking your webpage a lot during the process — so it is really scary to see it be taken down.

Note that the Soar packages use NVMe SSD storage, which has superior bandwidth than standard SATA SSD interfaces. We look at its basic Takeoff 4 option, available from $76.99 a month on a rolling contract, and for $35.99/month if you choose to pay for 12 months. Once a plan is selected — you can sign up and set up or migrate your site. There was a time when choosing a VPS basically meant “here is the server, set it up yourself.” Happily, things have progressed, and managed VPS servers are now available.

While shared hosting is A2’s most popular solution, they offer a full range of hosting services. Fortunately support channels like live chat and phone are readily available — though tickets are sometimes pushed. For technical questions, the first agent provided useful advice on improving site speed with Cloudflare CDN. With this robust security stack, A2 Hosting is one of the most secure shared hosting providers available today. The Patchman tool automatically detects outdated software and applies the latest security patches. All plans include robust security tools like free SSL (firewalls), malware scanning, and more.

The builder is free for 1-page sites hosted on the Startup plan (but for multiple-page websites or other plans), the site builder costs extra.

A2 Hosting offers customer support through several channels (including phone), live chat, and a ticketing system. A2 Hosting’s Shared Hosting plans are a good option for small to medium-sized websites that don’t require a lot of server resources. If you’re moving your website from another hosting provider to A2 Hosting, they offer free site migrations. A2 Hosting’s customer support team is available 24/7 to assist you with any issues or concerns you may have.
