Biography

Hon Mark Katsonga Phiri is the current Minister of Trade and Industry in Malawi. He has a strong background from the private sector after heading various corporate organization for over 30years. He is an entrepreneur and headed the Malawi Confederation of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) as its President on two consecutive terms.

Hon Mark Katsonga Phiri has attended various conferences, workshops and short management training programs in the SADC/COMESA region, the European Union, USA, Canada, Japan, India, Malaysia and Jamaica between 1983 and 2009. He is quite an asset in Malawi and the African continent.
